SEA AND SCENERY

"A man who keeps company with glaciers comes to feel tolerably insignificant by and by." - Mark Twain

Our scheduled stop in Paamiut, Greenland was cancelled due to rough seas. This coastal town of 1,800 did not have the facilities to enable us to dock, and the waves were too wild to be able to safely board the little tender boats. So, as consolation, the captain took us into a fjord filled with icebergs and lovely scenery, which we enjoyed well into the midnight sun.

The next day was a trip through Prince Christian Sound, a narrow passage surrounded by glaciers, waterfalls, and high cliffs. So, most of the day was spent on deck in chilly temperatures, admiring spectacular scenery along the way. Here are a few photos from the day.
